A Gallery For Young Artists By Young Artists
I started this project when I realized that most of the times when I couldn’t get into a gallery with my art that it wasn’t related to my skill level, it was related to my age. As a young artist it’s hard to get my work out into the world and have it be seen. This project came to be when I noticed a lot of my friends struggling to show off their art too, so I created a place to do that. Each submission is created by an artist who needs a lot more appreciation. Every view the gallery gets, is a view the artist gets.
The future goal with this project is to eventually move from a virtual location to a physical one, and provide a space for at-risk lgbt youth to hang out at during the day and receive mentorship while also learning about how art is like therapy. I’d like to eventually move to selling prints, clothes, and other handmade things alongside artists to be able to eventually get that physical location, but also while donating part of the profits directly to homeless shelters and food banks that support LGBT people.
