About Me!

Hello, there! I’m Vivian, a Vietnamese-American girl born-and-raised in the Los Angeles area. I now live in Dallas, Texas where I am a proud Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner.

I was motivated and inspired by the many powerful women in my matriarchal family and my intelligent peers and educators from my all-girls high school to pursue a career working with women. From a young age, I developed a strong interest in sexual and reproductive health after I had to teach myself because I was not learning it from my parent or Catholic school education.

It then became my mission and passion to teach others, especially young adults and women, about their sexual and reproductive health so they can take control of their own futures and reproductive freedom. I am able to pursue my dreams of empowering others with my passion for sexual and reproductive health by being a WHNP and a social media educator.

I went to Texas Christian University for my undergrad where I originally was a biology pre-med student with the desire to be an OB/GYN. But I realized that path wasn’t right for me or my future lifestyle and professional goals. I changed my major to pursue nursing and I have never looked back. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in December 2018 and I started working as a nurse in Labor & Delivery. In 2020, I started graduate school at Texas Woman’s University WHNP program and I finished with a Master of Science in Nursing in May 2022 and took the National Certification Corporation exam to become a board certified WHNP.

As a Millennial who grew up with the development of social media, I have always had a fondness for Instagram and, more recently, TikTok. My social media presence is an extension of my passions and goals to bring more awareness to the WHNP profession and to provide medically accurate and evidence-based sexual and reproductive health education. With only 2.2% of nurse practitioners in women's health, WHNPs are not common, especially an Asian-American WHNP. Therefore, I hope to inspire others to pursue a career as a WHNP if they are interested in a fulfilling career working to empower others in their sexual and reproductive.
