Public transport from Manchester Airport to accommodation/university
Manchester Met airport transfer service
The uni provide airport transfer service for new international students arriving at Manchester Airport and living in the local area.
You will need to book it and tell them:
2. Manchester Met ID
3. Flight details, including your flight number and airline
4. The terminal at which your flight will arrive
5. Destination address
Taxis (black cabs) / ride hailing (uber)
You can arrange your own transport such as with taxis. The price is around £25 - £30 (might be more than this). If you arrange it on your own, don’t forget to prepare Greater British Pounds (£). Please noted that the University is unable to reimburse you for transport costs if you travel independently to your accommodation.
Train / metrolink
You can catch train or Metrolink from the Manchester airport airport.
Important mobile applications to download
Download MyMMU on your smartphone to access your timetable, student email, Moodle (learning materials), and other important information.

This application is for your own safety where you can access help for first aid, emergency and help.
It is an app focus on track and trace COVID-19 in United Kingdom. It has lots of useful features including check in with barcode, give alert if you need to do self isolation, check your symptoms, book covid test, etc.
There are several apps you might download including Deliveroo, Just Eat, and Ubereats. Both Deliveroo and Ubereats also provide groceries delivery service from Aldi, Asda, Sainsbury’s, etc which will be useful especially during self isolation.
There are several ride hailing applications including Uber. You can use both credit and debit card to set up the payment on the application.
Stagecoach is one of the bus providers in Manchester. You can buy the tickets in the bus or through their app. They have several tickets including one way, daily, for each term and student annual pass.
