Granola Funk Live Sugar by Grassroots

I picked up this Live Sugar from Ascend by MoCa in Logan Square on August 22nd 2021. It special for $56 out the door with my medical card.

This batch of Granola Funk was Harvested on December 8th 2020, Tested on March 23rd 2021 and Packaged on April 1st 2021.

It’s potently Analysis is:

THC: 2.24%
THCA: 69.83%
CBD: 0.13%
0% CBDA
Bringing it to a total of 73.76%

Granola Funk is labeled a hybrid and is a Cross between Girl Scout Cookies and Wookie 15.

I’m guess This had been sitting on the self for a bit Due to the length between the package date and the date that I purchased it. Which would make sense as to why it was on special. it was a little dry compared to most sugars I’ve had and easily broke apart but was still sticky enough for an easy transfer from container to banger.

It had mostly earthy flavor with hint of berries and floral notes that I’m sure would of popped a bit more if it was fresher.

The initial dab left me a little couched locked and spaced out but quickly subsided into a more mellow and relaxing high that I found great for a night cap.

3 out of 5 would get again if the price was right or if nothing else caught my eye.

Lime Skunk Budder by High Supply

77.35% Sativa. Might be one of my favorite High Supply strains, very terpy and the most flavorful concentrate I’ve had by them so far. It had a strong lime and pine aroma and taste with a little bit of earthiness on the exhale. Great daytime dabs with a nice clear head buzz and uplifting and energetic high. 5 out of 5 would get again, again, and again.

Wedding Sherb Budder by Revolution

76.06% Hybrid. Been a minute since I’ve had any Revolution Concentrate. This Wedding Sherb is a cross between Wedding Cake and Sunset Sherb. It had a lot of the sweet aroma and flavor that Wedding Cake has, as well as some floral and kind of chemical tastes. A couple dabs left me with a nice long lasting body buzz and a relaxing and stress relieving high.

4 out of 5 would get again.

McLovin by Ozone

28.397% Hybrid. Scooped this last minute as they were out of the Cake Mints Reserve by the time I got there. It had a pleasant gassy, diesely aroma and flavor and a relaxing and calming body high. Dense and sticky nugs that had bits of purple.

4 out of 5 would get again.

Lemon Cake by Ozone

26.613% Hybrid. Had to get the other budget 8th that @ascendnextlevels in Logan Square is offering and it’s definitely worth the price. This lemon cake came in 2 nugs, one big fatty and another small one to bring it to an 8th. Trim job was so-so but that’s about par for the course these days. Nice spots of purple and a lot of orange hairs throughout. Has a mild sweet lemon citrus aroma and more of and earthy citrus flavor when smoked. Great head buzz that lasted longer than expected.

4 out of 5 would get again.

Gelato by Ozone

25.68% hybrid. MoCa has this and Lemon Cake as budget 8ths for one of the cheapest I’ve seen. Hope the prices stick around. It had a kind of a diesely, fruity aroma with more of and earth, musky flavor. Fairly balanced high, leaning more towards the uplifting side and with a decent head and body buzz.

4 out of 5 would get again.

Watermelon Zkittles Smalls by Verano

26.4% I/S Hybrid. Was kind of excited to see this on the menu as I’ve never seen this strain by Verano. It ended up being very underwhelming and did not have any of the fruit or sweet aromas that would be expected from this strain. Instead it was pretty musky and earthy and I’m guessing not exactly what the strain is supposed to be. It had a mild head buzz and uplifting high as well. Going to hold off on Verano flower again for a little bit. Harvest date on this was 4/21/21 but package date was 7/20/21, seems odd, thoughts?

2 out of 5 would only get at a deep discount.

Larry Bird LLR 500mg AiroPro Cart by Ascend

78.18% Hybrid. New drop by AiroPro and is one of the first in their Live Resin Series. Absolutely loved this one, it had a great sweet and kind of tangy taste along with some grape flavors and a very pleasant balanced high that was uplifting and gave a nice head buzz. Definitely gonna snag this one again and keep an eye out for their other carts in the Live Resin Series.

Hells Bells 500mg Cart by Rythm

67.317% Hybrid. Fun fact, this was the first product I bought from an Illinois dispensary back on 1/2/2020, along with some Raspberry Wanna Gummies. I remember being underwhelmed with this cart and not too much has changed. It had a mild head buzz and subtle uplifting high. Mainly earthy tastes with a hint of diesel. Was on sale so decided to give it a shot.

Grape Goji OG 500mg Cart by Ozone

Grape Goji OG 500mg vape cartridge by @liveozone 86.37% Sativa. I always get the new ozone distillate flavors when I see them since they’re consistently the cheapest at MoCa. This Grape Goji OG definitely had a strong grape flavor by also some skunky and gassy flavors that set it apart from the Grape God carts that they have. Nice focusing and kind of euphoric high.

3 out of 5 would get again if the price was right or if nothing else caught my eye.
