We are raising a bilingual, bicultural child who is a CODA (child of Deaf adults). I hail from the UK, bravely migrated Down Under a few years ago (snake phobia, haven’t seen one yet). Miss O’s life is embedded with Deaf culture, Auslan (Australian Sign Language) as well as Dominican* influence which plays a big role in our Montessori journey. This IG is an insight to our daily lives incorporating practical life, Montessori approaches inside and outside the home, and communication. The purpose of this is to share fun ideas, strategies and worthwhile tips in the hope that you will be inspired too. *Dominica, not Dominica Republic.
