Making language learning an experience

Why Echo?: Exploring “The Echo Method”

At Echo, we believe that language learning can be overwhelming- especially the beginner phase. We know the awkwardness, the urge to feel fluent straight away, no proper guidance for the beginner phase, not having enough time to study, less perfect resources or even studying for months and making little progress,. Well, Echo makes sure you learn while also staying time efficient and immersed. Here’s how the Echo method differs from others and how it has the capacity to help you feel the fluency fast.

Here’s how a typical learning session with Echo would feel like for you:
You get up on the train to commute to work during that you listen to our “2.5 minute podcast episode” while syncing with the episode transcript that comes with the episode and occasionally using the vocabulary note that also comes with the podcast to check unknown words. That’s how you practice “listening”. Then in your office lunch break, you do the activity in the episode which requires you to summarise the episode and describe something (if the episode is about winter in the host’s country, you will describe the winter in your own country) and then you write it down in your notes app (or a diary). This is how you practice writing and thinking in English which improves your speaking. Then on your commute to home, you will read the free ebook that comes with it (starting from the podcast’s season-2) to practice reading the words you learned in the episode. Then after going home before bed, you import the words to a flashcard app (or paper flashcards) and then now you practice the flashcard everyday and listen to other episodes on the days that follow to repeat the same process.
Here’s what you did:
-You studied for 20 minutes only everyday.
- You learned (and used) 20-30 new words
- You practiced all 4 main skills (Listening, Writing, Reading and Speaking)

And if you continue this each month you’ll learn:
- 600 words per month
- You’ll start thinking in English (in return you’ll speak)
- You’ll be conversational (even if it’s with simple words)
- You can actually put your skills to practice.
- And you’ll have native-like pronunciation

It’s like the “80/20” rule. 20% of your work is giving you 80% of results. Who knows, what if you’ll become a B2 Upper Intermediate in a year?

Start now and do your future self a favour.
