Wilder Roots Collective

Hi, I’m Brittany! Mother of 3 beautiful wild & free spirits. Originally from Northeast Louisiana, moved to the “Natural State” Arkansas for almost 9 years, and now landed in Austin, TX where my husband and I first fell in love and vowed to end up in the future we had envisioned for our weird and wonderful family! It’s here I’ve found the richest community of shared love for holistically supporting families of all backgrounds.

Wilder Roots Collective is a vision to empower a community of moms and their littles by connection through emotional, spiritual, and sensorial rituals & practices for these early stages of motherhood & the “Absorbent Mind” stage of child development.

Rooted in the complementary Montessori and Occupational Therapy methods of understanding developmental stages that support independence, exploration, and regulation.

I started my journey in Pediatric Occupational Therapy in and out of the traditional school system with a focus on sensory integration. I quickly found a host of children who didn’t quite fit the box for services and were falling through the cracks, including my own child. I found a love for the overlap of Maria Montessori’s approach to addressing the whole child in education from birth. It was then I made a shift to work in and out of Montessori classrooms and led my own studio here in Austin, TX in an indoor/outdoor program. Previously, I’ve also led an outdoor hands-on homeschool co-op out of Central Arkansas. We traveled all around the state during this period and learned through discovery and a self-driven hands-on sensorial experience.

Now here in South Austin, I’m excited to offer yoga classes for moms & kids, pop-up events & camps for children with a focus on integrating all of our senses using movement, breathwork, and sustainable art in nature.

I’m also excited to offer a more flexible, small, intentional community co-op for ages 2-4 yo this Fall! Austin is such a lovely place for homeschoolers to find their people, but there’s not many options for these ages. By bridging the outdoor classroom experience and Montessori principles, I want to build that community for families in South Austin!

Feel free to reach out about becoming apart of this community and follow social media to keep in the know!
