Sharing my LOVE of my family and the Planet

Hi ๐Ÿค— welcome to my little space on IG. I want it to feel refreshing to you, so I'm sharing moments, people and things that make me smile.
I hope you smile too.

I'm Lucinda, a mom and wife in her mid thirties. I'm an INFJ, a planner, extroverted introvert and lover of travel, reading and outdoor adventures.

My husband, Ken, and I were both raised in California. It's where we met and got married, but we love the simplicity and slow pace that come with Island Life. 'Island Time' is a real thing ! and we've come to embrace it.

My little family lives in Saipan, it's a US territory and island in the Pacific, North of Guam. It's the beauty behind most of my pictures. We moved here to support a small congregation and it's made us happier than we could have imagined. We've made lifelong friends and enjoy teaching others from the Bible.

Ken works part time from home and volunteers computer support to a non profit organization one day a week.
We've learned to embrace a simple life and save fiercely so we can still travel as a family.

I used to have a side business selling (the best ! ) makeup. I loved the work and the products, but it was taking away from precious family time. I stopped but my desire to contribute to our family has not.

I'm currently working towards qualifying to become an Amazon Influencer. 80% of my shopping is done on Amazon and I'm constantly recommending products so it would be a natural fit for our family.

Progress not Perfection is my motto in general.
When we found out we were pregnant (in 2009, what a surprise ! ) I knew I needed to make changes. I wanted our baby to have the best chance to thrive in health and happiness. I did lots of research, weekly trips to the library stocking up on all books related to babies and health.

Husband-Coached Childbirth by Dr. Bradley changed everything for me and sent me on a "Crunchy Momma" path ๐Ÿงก Keith was born naturally with a Midwife. I used G-Diapers for his super sensitive skin and switched to cloth when he was a year old. Baby wearing was satisfying for us both. Our neighbor regularly called me a hippie for wearing him while I hung our laundry on lines in our backyard ๐Ÿ˜† but I took it as a compliment.

Nutrition is important to us. We eat gluten free and dairy free- because it makes us FEEL good. We primarily eat veggies, whole grains, legumes, fruits and CHOCOLATE. If dairy free ice cream was more affordable and available here it would be a permanent staple in our freezer. (PS I MISS Trader Joe's) We haven't had a microwave in 9 years and I don't miss it, but it means a lot more dishes.

Making changes is NOT easy, but striving for progress makes me happy. Lots of simple changes can lead to bigger changes. Strive for progress not perfection.

Whew- that was a LOT ๐Ÿงก thanks for sticking around to the end.
If you have any questions, please send me a DM, I'd love to chat !

With Love,
Lucinda J
