About me

WOC - What does it stand for?

My name is Nelly and I decided to create this page called wocblog to inspire other women to love themselves the way they were made by God: fearfully and wonderfully (for reference see Psalm 139:14).

WOC stands for woman of colour and I believe that we all are unique but it also stands for woman of Christ. Let me tell you one thing: everything I do (from the most simplest things like breathing to creating content) is due to the existence of God. The foundation of the woman I am becoming is Christ. He gave me hope in times I felt hopeless. He is my peace in the storm called life. Therefore everything I do is for Him to be lifted & glorified. It’s more than just hair.

Why did you start this blog?

To answer this question I need to go back in time, to my younger self. The Nelly you see today isn’t the Nelly from 10 years ago. Back then I used to be very shy and lacked self confidence. Sometimes I even looked for approval in the wrong places. I was and still am an overthinker (working on it though haha) and writing seemed to be the only way out. So I started journaling at the age of 11 and I still have those journals till this day. My thoughts & worries all captured on paper. Back then I didn’t like the way I looked, in fact I never thought I am beautiful.

To cut the story short, I had to go through a long journey of accepting myself and had to learn how to love myself. I realized that if I can‘t love myself how can I expect somebody else to love me?

Durch die sehr tolle Auswahl der Produkte, war es möglich meine Locken besser kennenzulernen und zu pflegen. Dadurch, dass ich meine Haare als Neuanfang geschnitten hatte, sind durch die Produkte meine Haare etwas schneller gewachsen als sonst und ich war selbstbewusster meine Haare auch kürzer zu tragen.

Meine Lieblingsprodukte waren die Kämme und die Accessoires wie Silk Scrunchies sowie der wunderschöne Conditioner, die ich mir auch nach dem Giveaway gekauft habe.
