Domestic Abuse Specialist
I’m a Sheffield-based Sociologist, Anti-Racism Activist and Domestic Abuse Specialist who specialises in BAMER (Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic and Refugee) and marginalised communities’ experiences of Domestic and Sexual Abuse.
I’m a freelance journalist, and a staff writer for Aurelia Magazine, contributing pieces on race, gender, mental health and abuse. I’m an Intersectional Feminist and my writing inherently considers the impact of social issues on the most vulnerable.
I have recently launched a Patreon; I’ll be discussing Anti-Racism, Domestic Abuse and Veganism. The Patreon is important because whilst I consistently advocate for others, I often fail to advocate for myself. Paying Black women for their labour is an integral part of Anti-Racist activism, and if you have the capacity, I would love for you to join me over at: www.patreon.com/xeviemuir
