Barre combines principles of ballet, Pilates and yoga to provide a fun full-body workout. It will increase your strength and flexibility without spending hours in the gym!

At Your Local Barre, the classes are fun and small, creating an intimate experience and a sense of community 😊

If you want to move your body and improve your health without any pressure to be at a certain level, this is the class for you!

Beginners Barre (Barre45)

It's time to barre!

Beginners Barre is a 45 minute class, designed to give a full body workout. Don't be fooled by the word beginner, you will leave the class feeling the burn!

All levels are welcome to Barre45 πŸ€—
Props: ballet barre, yoga mat, 0.5kg hand weights

Barre (Barre60)

Intermediate level

Barre intermediate is a one hour class, not for the faint-hearted! I highly recommend trying atleast 2 beginners classes first. This class is designed to be faster-paced class with lots of layers.
Optional Props: ballet barre, yoga mat, 0.5-2kg hand weights, pilates ball, stretch band, sliders, yoga block, 1kg ankle weights

Prenatal Barre

For mummy-to-be

Congratulations! What a wonderful time for you and your family!
My Prenatal class is designed for women in their 2nd or 3rd trimester, to keep moving and stay strong in preparation for birth and motherhood. The class is specifically designed using safe exercises for your stage of pregnancy. It is not recommended to take up a new exercise regime during pregnancy, please speak to your instructor if general exercise is new to you. And always get the OK from your pregnancy care team to exercise :)

If you are in your 1st trimester, you can choose to attend this class or the beginners class - advise your instructor of your stage of pregnancy before the class begins.

Mums & Bubs Barre

For the postnatal mummy

Congratulations on your new arrival!
From experience, I can guess that you're feeling a range of emotions, and your body definitely does not feel like your own! My Mums n Bubs class is designed for the recovering body. Feel free to attend alone or with your little one - my class incorporates interaction with your baby.
If you had a vaginal birth with no complications, you can attend as soon as you are feeling ready, usually at least 4 weeks post-birth.
If you had a c-section, please wait at least 6 weeks post-birth, and get the OK from your health team.
*Suitable for 0-12 months, there is a playpen available for crawling babies

Mums & Tots Barre

Suitable for age 1-4 years

In this fun 45 minute class we will explore the foundations of Barre, whilst engaging our little ones! This is an opportunity for mum to fit some movement into her day, and for our toddlers to learn to express themselves through movement.

Barre Stretch

Pointe - Tendu - Stretch

Feeling tight? Want to improve flexibility? This 30 minute class will help focus on stretching the main muscles used during the general barre classes.

Barre Sequence

Move - Dance - Barre

Inspired by ballet and all things dance, give your brain a workout too with this fun sequence class! Using general Barre movements with an extra bit of flare, we will choreograph a short, fun sequence in this 60 minute classπŸ•Ί

Calorie burning barre!

This 30 minute express class is designed to pick up the pace, and get that heart rate up - bring an extra water bottle!

Over 50s Barre

Age is just a number!

My Barre classes are open to all ages!
However, some of my mature clients prefer to practice within their own age group - completely personal preference β™₯
The over 50s Barre class may be slower paced and perfect for a Barre novice.

Private Barre Lessons

One to one barre lessons are a great way to reach your personal goals or perfect your technique.
Before a private class I will always offer a 15 minute phone consultation to ensure you get the full benefit from the class.
Examples of specifics you might like to work on:
*posture
*specific muscle groups
*strength
*flexibility
*postnatal issues such as abdominal separation
*barre exercises you can fit into your daily routine

Frequently asked questions....

Q. I'm not fit or flexible, can I still do Barre?
A. YES! Barre is for everyone! All movements can be modified to suit the individual.

Q. What do I wear?
A. Usual gym wear: leggings are highly recommended. Bare feet or grip socks are recommended for Barre classes. Grip socks or trainers are recommended for Barre Cardio.

Q. What do I need to bring?
A. Bring a water bottle, a sweat towel and a positive attitude 😊
Yoga mats and props are available, however feel free to bring your own if you prefer.

About Vicky

Hi! I'm Vicky, owner of Your Local Barre in Wagga.
Originally from Liverpool, England, I first moved down under in 2013. Ever since I was a little girl, I loved everything dance! I learnt very early into my teenaged years that the industry was very competitive. So with my not-so gracious frame, I decided to take up a career in dentistry instead!
I got my dance-fix as a hobbie in my spare time ever since! My favourite genres were street/hiphop/jazz/ballet.

In 2014, I discovered Barre and was absolutely amazed at what it did to my body! I felt lighter and toned within weeks. I particularly loved the use of the ballet barre and props to make each class unique and fun. The best part is: it suits all body types and ages.

Whilst I was pregnant with my little girl, I also undertook pre and post natal Barre training. I love how Barre is so versatile and the exercises can be modified to suit the individual. Join me at the Barre soon!....
