Yugen Blue is a producer and engineer from San Jose, California. Inspired by sunshine, bold color, and early-2000s anime, he blends hip-hop, ambient music, jazz, R&B, and other genres to create simple yet immersive instrumentals. With influences ranging from Pink Siifu and Ahmad Jamal to D'Angelo, Sade, and beyond, Yugen invites you to sit back and drift off into kaleidoscopic worlds filled with warm sonic landscapes inspired by the sunflower fields he sees in his daydreams. Collaborative efforts like "Critical Thinking" with East Palo Alto artist Masethemessiah, as well as other collaborations across the underground, have proven Yugen's ability to create stylized aesthetics that range from warm and mellow to dark and brooding. His most recent project, Dream Sequence, is an instrumental rumination on finding meaning in the everyday.
