Hi! I’m Yuko

I’m a New York based Japanese illustrator. I used have a corporate PR job in Tokyo, where I worked for 11 years after getting a college degree in business.
After a very early midlife crisis, I finally decided to pursue my childhood dream by quitting the stable job and moving to NY to study illustration at School of Visual Arts. At age 34. Yup. Age is just a number. Believe me when I say it!

I earned MFA in illustration in 2003, and have been illustrating since. I have also been teaching at my alma mater since 2004.

Some of my clients include: Apple, Adobe, Google, Microsoft, Nike, Library of Congress, Smithsonian Institute, NY Times, TIME, DC Comics.

My hobby is to read, and to see the world, mostly through speaking trips and teaching workshops. I clearly can’t do that now, but, hey, everyone is on the same boat. So, safety first! Wear a mask! And go VOTE!
