Meet Gem, Brighton's beloved small brown clown. Playfully combining burlesque, drag and clowning, her multi-layered performances are saucy, melancholy and tongue-in-cheek. Gem's glittering grin and artful costumes are sure to transport you into her dreamy cartoon world. Watch Gem morph into various kitsch characters, taking you on a whimsical journey textured with props, puppets and sparkling rhinestones.

Her journey into the bright lights of drag and burlesque began in 2018 after taking Rubyyy Jones's Queerlesque Course, igniting a passion for performance art. Further honing her craft, she has studied with Michael Twaits in The Art of Drag, Bebe Bohème in The Art of Performance, and participated in Nose to Nose Clown Workshops.

Gem's campy performances have graced many stages and festivals in Brighton and beyond. She’s dazzled audiences at The Cocoa Butter Club, Brighton Fringe, Hebden Bridge Burlesque Festival, Underbelly, and with The Puppet Parlour at Shambala Festival. Gem earned the title of Mx Congeniality at Brighton's Big Drag Pageant 2023, where she's been a finalist four times, and has also been a finalist in Brighton's Next Drag Monarch.
