- we ask our clients to bring their own razor, but in case they forget (or don't have one) we use a reusable metal razor with a disposable blade

is a vegan tattoo a real tattoo?
absolutely! the diference of a vegan and a "tradicional" tattoo is that it's not tested on, not contain animal derived ingredients, such as bone char, gelatin, glycerin, shellac or lanolin
we use only the best quality supplies and we're very proud to say it's 100% vegan
are the biodegradable supplies used at the studio going back to the land?
the plastic materials we use during our sessions are made of a bioplastic called PLA (Polylactic Acid) - the main difference from traditional plastics is that PLA is made from renewable resources, such as corn starch, sugarcane, sugar beet and cassava, as opposed to oil or gas
after used they're infected by our clients blood and (although it could be safely composted, by the portuguese law) it has to be incinerated
we believe it's a much better solution than the tradicional plastic because it uses 65% LESS energy to be produced and generates 68% FEWER greenhouse gases and NON toxic fumes when incinerated*
getting a tattoo has it's impact but we've managed to considerably reduce the environmental footprint through the solutions we've found

how much does a tattoo cost at Jardim?
we have the minimum price of 85€ but each artist at Jardim Ecotattoo have their own price table
- keep in mind that all bodies and tattoos are unique (unless it says otherwise) and the placement & complexity of the illustration influences the final price

- the information we need for a quotation are: size, placement and references of what you'd like to tattoo
can I bring a friend?
we're very happy to welcome everyone, but as we aim for a calm and peaceful environment during the session, we recommend bringing 1 person máximum for your appointment

get ready for your tattoo

start moisturizing the area of our tattoo 2-3 days in advance - this will prepare your skin for healing

come with the tattoo area shaved, or bring your own razor (only if you have one) - so we don't need to use a disposable blade, reducing the environmental impact of our session 🌱

wear comfortable clothes, preferably dark colored and with easy access to the area we're going to tattoo
4.
you can bring someone to share this special moment (1 person max)
5.
have a light meal before the session and, above all, come calmly and with an open heart 🫶🏽

começa a hidratar a zona da tatuagem com 2-3 dias de antecedência - isto irá preparar a pele para a cicatrização

vem com a área já depilada ou traz a tua própria lâmina (só se a tiveres em casa) - assim não usamos uma descartável, reduzindo o impacto ambiental da nossa tattoo 🌱

vem com uma roupa confortável, de preferência de cor escura e com fácil acesso à zona que vamos tatuar

AFTER-CARE
take good care of your new tattoo
EN | AFTER-CARE
remove the second skin gently 24h after the session - use warm water to help loosen it

clean the area with glycerine soap 1x/day and apply a thin layer of coconut oil/balm 4x/day
OR tattoo film gel 1x/day during 3-4 weeks

avoid contact with contaminated environments (sand, sea, swimming pool, etc) and direct sunlight exposure while the skin heals
4.
avoid excessive sweating, intense workouts or saunas on the first 5 days and do not scratch, pick or peel off any scabs - this can cause scarring, color loss and affect the thickness of the tattoo
5.
after the tattoo has fully healed, continue moisturizing it with your regular lotion and apply sunscreen regularly to keep the thin lines and to prevent the color from fading

evita transpiração excessiva, treino intenso ou sauna nos primeiros 5 dias;
não coces ou arranques a crosta - isto pode causar alguma falha, perda de pigmento ou afetar a espessura da tattoo

depois de cicatrizada, continua a usar creme hidratante e aplica protetor solar regularmente para manter a espessura das linhas e evitar que o pigmento desbote
