Jesus tells us we have to be born again to see and enter the Kingdom of God and He shares that being born again is to be born of water and the Spirit.
When we respond to the Good News about Jesus through our repentance and belief in Jesus, be baptised in water in the name of Jesus and be baptised in His Holy Spirit, we are born again, sealed and restored back into a relationship with God, His perfect design.
We become a new creation and are given a brand new start, our old life will be gone and our new life will begin. This will now allow us to obey, follow and worship God in spirit and truth.
“Jesus answered him, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless a person is born again [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified], he cannot [ever] see and experience the kingdom of God.””
John 3:3
“Jesus answered, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot [ever] enter the kingdom of God.”
John 3:5
“But if God’s Spirit lives in you, you are under the control of your spiritual nature, not your corrupt nature. Whoever doesn’t have the Spirit of Christ doesn’t belong to him.”
Romans 8:9
“God is a spirit. Those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.””
John 4:24
“In Him, you also, when you heard the word of truth, the good news of your salvation, and [as a result] believed in Him, were stamped with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit [the One promised by Christ] as owned and protected [by God].”
Ephesians 1:13
“For you [who are born-again have been reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified and] are all children of God [set apart for His purpose with full rights and privileges] through faith in Christ Jesus. For all of you who were baptized into Christ [into a spiritual union with the Christ, the Anointed] have clothed yourselves with Christ [that is, you have taken on His characteristics and values].”
Galatians 3:26-27
“Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life]. But all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ [making us acceptable to Him] and gave us the ministry of reconciliation [so that by our example we might bring others to Him], that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting people’s sins against them [but canceling them]. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation [that is, restoration to favor with God].”
2 Corinthians 5:17-19
