Amina Suleiman graduated with a Bachelors in IT. She's worked in different industries since then including real estate management, Healthcare IT Operations and most recently as a Program Support Specialist at AFS INT. She's also a YES program alumna from Kenya who developed and lead 2 YES Alumni grant projects; Technology for Deaf Youth - a 2021 community project that was an introduction to coding to 27 Deaf kids in primary school in Mombasa and The Next Step project - a career prep program that taught CV writing, critical thinking skills, mindfulness practices and know-hows to apply for opportunities online. The project worked with over 500 high school kids in 3 different schools in Msambweni, a rural area in Kwale County, Kenya.

Awah Kenneth is a Software Engineer from Cameroon who currently works in technical sales for a data center infrastructure distribution company. He is also YES program alumnus who has worked on multiple community projects including the Paper Bag Project - organized in August 2019 when he trained over 20 youths on how to make biodegradable paper bags from plantain stems. Since then he has organized over ten projects focused on project management, public speaking skill development and volunteerism.

Amina and Awah attended the 2023 YES Voices Podcasting Workshop where they learnt about effective storytelling through the use of podcasting. During the workshop, this podcast was born as a way to share first hand experiences of what it is like to build a career as a young professional.

The initial idea was to showcase young people in Africa building careers in tech but we realized that irrespective of the field of work and locations of these individuals, every story is rich in field specific and non-field specific knowledge. Sharing these varied experiences can inspire and benefit just about any young and aspiring professional.
