About

It all started with a Christmas "jumper"...

As a South African living abroad, the exciting but daunting process of adapting to a new climate, new culture, new people, new everything left me with a touch of homesickness. I know I am not alone - there are fellow ‘safas,’ uprooted from home soil, learning to cope in this ‘green and pleasant’ (and rainy) land.

Back to the Christmas jumper. Something as simple as a jumper (not jersey) with giraffes, instead of reindeer, to celebrate a winter holiday occasion, became not only a statement fashion item and talking point, but a real comfort. That Christmas jumper was the inspirational seed and jumping off point for PRINTS FROM HOME  - a simple way to rekindle/reconnect with the spirit of South Africa in homes (and wardrobes) across the UK.

Besides the good weather, diverse scenery and 11 official languages, true South African culture embraces slang expressions all its own! It is this unique Rainbow Nation slang that unites South Africans and makes us feel ‘at home,’ wherever home may be.

Love, Jennifer
