All About Me

Telling the world what i'm made of

Hello beautiful people I'm Sam, Im 19 and was born April 20th, 2001 ! i am an digital artist an ocean advocate and an ambassador. i got into digital art in 6th grade my middle school was specialized for the arts and i loved drawing and taking photos this love grew and extended into high school where i continued to take classes on digital art, graphic design and photography. in 2017 i joined this wonderful group call the Scubanauts and here started to grow my already large love for the oceans, over the course of a year i flew to D.C. for worlds ocean weeks to persuade many of my local congressman and women on certain bills to pass that will help preserve our oceans. drove to the Florida Keys a month later had to come up with a topic i could research and collect data on for me and my team we choose populations of Ornamental Reef Fish and how its effected in both protected and non protected reefs. We collected data for a week and combined our findings created an abstract and a presentation to submit our finding to our peers. I bet your wondering "Why aren't you working for someone in your field" well its plan and simple. i cant afford college, and i don't want to pull out a loan i prefer to be debt free. so i hope to make a bit more money so i can get enough money to go to college.

Respect The Fin CO.

As a social enterprise, all of our efforts are deliberately intended to raise awareness about the growing fragility of marine animals and habitats around the world. Increased awareness has the rare power to encourage people to take immediate action and turn the current trend around.

Respect the Fin was created as a passion project by Shira Margulies during her college career. Her original goal, which continues to this day, was to reveal to the public the rarely-expressed and beautiful side of sharks. Through Respect the Fin, Shira aims to spread awareness of both the importance of sharks and the dire threats that the species as a whole is currently facing; nearly 100 million sharks are killed every single year, and there are no signs of this slowing. The ocean's most ancient predator, the keystone species maintaining the delicate balance of the food chain, threatens to crumble. If sharks disappear, the ecosystem that has built over millions of years will disappear along with it. We must learn to respect them and their vital role, or we will watch as the ocean we know and love falls into disarray.

Though sharks have always been her number one passion, in 2019 Shira decided that such a platform can be used to help other endangered animals as well. As an advocate for all endangered marine life, Respect the Fin is committed to saving our oceans, and hope that you share our commitment. Currently, a portion of our net profits is donated to Sharks4Kids and the World Wildlife Fund, two agencies which have a accomplished much in the field of conservation. Through supporting programs such as these, Respect the Fin can help play an instrumental part in creating waves of change for our oceans. Join us in our journey as we work to conserve the beautiful world we inherited for generations to come.
