About sam —

Hey! I’m Sam Mull owner of Smull Studio, a private tattoo studio located in Medina, Ohio. I started this journey back in March of 2023, when I took a PMU Brow training. I knew I’d want to offer body tattoos and now that’s my passion and future for the business.

I have been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2016 and love helping people relax and reset.

My husband and I have been married since 2022 and together since 2013. We have a dog named Sadie and a cat named Birdie. These cuties are my whole world.

If I had to describe myself like a book synopsis it would be |" A story of a ginger who floats through life with confidence and optimism. A good judge of character but will give anyone the benefit of the doubt. Her dark humor will always appear at the most inappropriate times but luckily her closest loved ones are the same way. She fears people mistake her kindness for ignorance but she'll never let anyone walk all over her. A pastel loving, coffee drinking, witty, hell of a gal"

I have so many goals and ideas for Smull Studio and cannot wait to share them in the future. Swipe to view my work, pricing and other info. I look forward to seeing what we create together!

tattoo aftercare

Remove Saniderm after 24-48 hours (sooner or longer, if your tattoo artist recommends it). Wash your hands before taking off the bandage. It’s easiest to remove under water in the shower. Avoid soaking in tub and sweating while cover is on.

Gently wash the tattoo with antibacterial soap (gold dial) and tepid water, gently pat dry with a clean paper towel.

Apply a layer of unscented moisturizer and leave uncovered and avoid tight clothing.

Carefully wash your tattoo area three times a day with soap and water and gently pat it dry with a new paper towel each time.

Keep applying an unscented moisturizer after you clean the tattoo, to keep it hydrated.

Repeat this process for 2-4 weeks until you feel the tattoo healed down and finished flaking. Avoid itching and picking at the tattoo. Avoid saunas, swimming, hot tubs and sun exposure for 2+ weeks. Long term care will be keeping your tattoo hydrated and applying SPF to your tattoos.

If you see signs of infection, seek medical attention immediately.

FAQs —

— WHAT ARE THE STUDIO HOURS?
I am currently in the studio Monday-Thursday 11-4:30. I am not taking on clients needing later appointments times at the moment.

— DO YOU TATTOO MINORS?
No, I do not tattoo minors. Even with parental consent, no minors.

— DO YOU OFFER SINGLE-NEEDLE TATTOOS?
No, I do not offer single-needle style tattoos. My goal is for the tattoo to last and heal visible. I do however describe my style as Fine line work.

— DO YOU OFFER TOUCH UPS?
All of my tattoo appointments include a complimentary touch up within 1 year of the initial session. To book this, DM or email me a clear photo of your tattoo and I’ll get you booked for it!

— DO YOU TOUCH UP OTHER PEOPLES WORK?
This is on a case to case basis, but you can always send me a photo and see if it’s something I can help with!

— DO YOU DO COVERUPS?
No, at this time I do not do complete coverups but I can do reworks and corrections. With the goal of enhancing or sometimes fixing your current tattoo, this is considered a custom and I’m only accepting these projects when custom books are open.

— DO YOU OFFER GIFT CARDS?
No, at this time I do not offer any type of gift card.

— WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT & ARE THERE CREDIT CARD TRANSACTION FEES, SALES TAX ETC?
I cover all transactions fees for your convenience to pay whichever form of payment you prefer. I accept all major credit cards and cash. There is a 6.75% sales tax added to all appointments so please plan accordingly (yes even on cash payments). I do not accept Venmo for payments.

— YOUR BOOKS ARE CLOSED.. WHEN WILL THEY BE OPEN AGAIN?
The short answer is: when I’m available again. I will not usually have an answer for this unfortunately. I only book out 1-2 months so my books open once I have availability to do so. Please do not ask me on Instagram, thank you!

— I JUST BOOKED AND MADE A DEPOSIT, NOW WHAT?
Once you book and make a deposit, I’ll reach out with any questions I have for your design. If it’s a custom design you’ll get a message from me 24 hours beforehand to make any adjustments + confirm your design. All directions and FAQs are sent automatically with your appointment confirmation so please read carefully.

— CUSTOM DESIGN AGREEMENT
Sometimes plans change and you want to change your design completely. I will most likely request that you submit a separate form once my books are open again. I accept projects for the design potential so when those change, I may not necessarily be interested in your new idea. In the event that we cannot agree on your design or it changes too much from the original idea, I will also ask that you resubmit at a later date. Please remember, this may result in you forfeiting your deposit. All customs are sent to you 24 hours in advance. If you confirmed the design and day-of want to make changes this may result in a redraw fee or a cancellation. In the event that I need more time to complete your custom design, I will kindly ask that we reschedule to allow me more time to make sure the design is perfect. Your deposit will then transfer to your rescheduled date, you will not lose it. Although this is rare, I appreciate your patience and understanding if it does!

— WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?
I require all appointments to have a $50 or $100 non-refundable deposit to secure your booking. I ask that if you need to reschedule please reach out before 24 hours in advance to avoid losing your deposit. Reschedules earlier than 24 hours will be able to transfer their deposit to the new date. Appointments rescheduled within 24 hours will lose their deposit and need to submit another one to rebook. Cancellations with no intention of rescheduling will forfeit their deposit. I understand things come up and we all get sick, please feel free to reach out earlier if you’re considering rescheduling/ cancelling. A second reschedule will need to submit a new deposit. Please do not come into the studio if you have any symptoms of illness at all. If you are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment without letting me know, you will be asked to reschedule and lose your deposit. Any no-shows will result in a 50% charge if your highest quote amount and unable to rebook in the future.

— WHAT ARE THE PRE-CARE INSTRUCTIONS?
A few days before your appointment please make sure your skin is hydrated and without any skin conditions such as sunburn, eczema, psoriasis etc. Avoid using self-tanners the week of your tattoo. The night before your tattoo, please limit any alcohol intake. The day of your appointment please limit your caffeine. Make sure to stay hydrated and eat something before you arrive. DO NOT lotion, shave or have any open wounds on the area to be tattooed.

— WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Please wear something loose and comfortable. For placements under clothing please wear adjustable clothing and bring options. For example, for a back piece you could wear a low back tank and bring a button down you could where backwards if needed. I have nipple covers and other barrier options if needed also. Your comfort will be my priority.

— HOW EARLY SHOULD I ARRIVE?
The traffic around Medina Square can get busy especially when school lets out, so please plan accordingly or plan to detour around the square. I do not have a waiting room so please do not enter the studio earlier than 5 minutes before your scheduled time. If I am running behind or early I will shoot you a text to let you know. If you are running behind please text me (my number will be given a few days beforehand with directions). If you are more than 15 minutes late you may be asked to reschedule. If you are more than 30 minutes late without letting me know you will be charged a no-show fee.

— ARE THERE RESTROOMS?
Yes! The studio is a private suite with its own restroom inside.

— WHERE IS THE STUDIO LOCATED?
The studio is located in the Liberty Row Plaza just west of Historic Medina
Square. For my safety and the safety of my clients, I only give out the address and suite number to those with an appointment scheduled with me.

— CAN I BRING A PAL?
Yes! The studio is small so please limit your company to i person. Any rude guests will be asked to leave.

— WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
You can bring water, snacks and anything else to make you feel comfortable during your session. For longer sessions you can bring headphones or a book (depending on the area to be tattooed).
